We were fortunate to have Charlie Keeler join us on stage for our last gig on Saxophone. Charlie is the son of our guitarist JFK and the musical ties in this family are extensive! You may recall this isn't the first time we've had a guest from the Keeler family help us round out our sound. Charlie layed down some smooth sounds during a special rendition of Careless Whisper during our last gig at the Sandbar Prom at Lucia. Thanks for helping us out Charlie!
Soundwave would like to welcome it's newest member, Hank Rischar! Hank will add keyboards to the Soundwave vibe along with rhythm guitar and backing vocals. Hank has a long history of performing in Lawrence with Coversmith and brings to us his expertise, good looks and charm. Come see us and give Hank a shout out!
Supporting the Lawrence Public Library's summer reading program has become near and dear to our hearts. This is the second time Soundwave has performed for the library's summer program and this year was as big as ever. The kiddos had a blast forming their own “mosh” pit of sorts to our music and the parents thanked us for helping them sleep well that night after expending all that energy. Now they have all summer to read those books and listen to great music! Hopefully we will see you all again soon.
As a community band, we love involving our friends and family when we rock out. Here's a recent shot of Henry Keeler… that's right! Son of JFK helping Soundwave out for a couple of tunes that were greatly enhanced by his stupendous keyboard skills! Thank you Henry for sitting in with us at our last couple of gigs! From the response of the crowds, they wanna hear more!
We are proud to say Soundwave has again been nominated for Best Live Band in Lawrence. It's a great honor and we always have stiff competition. We will pander for your votes starting June 4th. Until then, thank you for your support and keep on rockin'!
Soundwave had the honor of playing for the Hearts of Gold Gala for Lawrence Memorial Hospital on October 22nd. After a hiatus due to Covid, the event returned to raise money for an expansion for the LMH Health Cancer Center. We put on our best rock outfits and concluded the black tie event with a rockin' show of party tunes. Thank you to special guest vocalist Kenna Tuckness who allowed us to get back into some of those tunes we hadn't played in a while! 
How do we decide which songs to play you may ask? We get inspiration from everywhere including these classic rockers! After Jeremy, Dave and Johnny took a field trip to see the show, they left with an urge to add another Cheap Trick song to our setlist. Come see us at Lucia and you'll hear it for the first time!
Thank you to all our Wave fans who voted for us in this years "Best of Lawrence". We earned "First Runner Up" as we like to call it. We couldn't have done it without your support. Keep on rockin'!
Even Baby Jay got in on the action last night when Soundwave rocked the Lawrence Public Library during their end of summer event! Thanks for the great turnout everyone. We had a blast and can't wait to do it again!
